We want to be up front with you about why we’ve decided to open up our “stash” of inventory for public sales.  The undeniable trend is that yarn shops across the country have been closing at a rapid rate over the past few years.  We are continually hearing from our customers that they can’t find Brown Sheep yarn.

Here’s the deal: we want to keep making the yarn you love, so we need you to buy yarn at your local yarn shop.  Think of “Stashability Month” as our gift to you–making all colorways of this quick-knitting, super warm yarn available for last-minute holiday knitting and gifts. When Stashability Month is over, pay it forward by supporting your LYS throughout the rest of the year.

We truly believe that local yarn shops are essential for the continuation of knitting, crochet, spinning, and other fiber arts for future generations.  They provide knowledge, instruction, and a center for building relationships.

That’s why we’re not undercutting local yarn shop prices with our online sales, and that’s why we’re offering it for a limited time only.  Maybe you know and love our yarns already–or maybe you haven’t discovered our yarns yet because you don’t have access to a local yarn shop.  We hope that if you like the yarn you order online, you will make future purchases at a locally owned shop.

If you are unfortunate enough to not have a local yarn shop in your community, seek them out when you travel.  Yarn shops are what keep us spinning and dyeing the yarn you love.
